Membership forms

Section Leaders must hold a completed Membership form (or Activity Information Form in the case of camps and outings) for all under 18s in their Section.  Arrangements must be made to ensure that children’s forms are available at  every activity/meeting they attend.

List of members

The Group Secretary maintains a list of all young members and adults in the Group.  The Section Leader needs to let the Group Secretary know who has joined / left / moved up.

Keeping a Register

The Section Leader should keep an attendance register of every child and adult present at each meeting.  This helps should a question arise later regarding who was present.

Attendance

Non-members (i.e. parents, siblings, friends, etc) may only stay if the Section Leader says it is OK.

Membership fees

Membership fees are paid monthly, usually by standing order, at the following rates:

  • Beavers, Cubs and Scouts £9.
  • Leaders children as above £9.
  • Young Leaders £0.
  • Adults £0.

Any family financially disadvantaged to the extent that one or more child’s participation in any Scouting event should be referred to the Group Scout Leader in the first instance.

Uniforms

Scarves are obtained from the Group.  Members are not normally charged for scarves, but Leaders may charge individual children for replacement of lost or ruined scarves.

For further details about uniforms and where to sew badges on, leaders should refer to POR Chapter 10.
